چکیده

Heavy-fuel aviation piston engines (HF-APEs) are widely used in general and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) due to their safety fuel economy. This paper describes a numerical experimental study of scavenging combustion processes on 2-Stroke Direct Injected HF-APEs for light aircraft, with its cylinder specifically designed as cross scavenging. A 3-Dimentional transient model in-cylinder flow process is established by the Forte platform, engine test system set up. By comparing simulation results results, it showed that multi-ports can generate unbalanced aerodynamic torque cylinder. In compression process, swirl ratio (SR) gradually increases, peak SR reaches 15. Moreover, approximately 25% exhaust residual gas conducive atomization evaporation high-altitude environment. When injection timing between −8 °CA −16 °CA, has optimal power economy performance at different altitudes. Finally, when advance angle moves forward 4 maximum pressure increases 2 MPa, rising rate decreasing gradually. The have important significance development small HF-APEs.

Using Neural Networks for Air-to-Fuel Ratio Estimation in Two- Stroke Combustion Engines

To be able to meet the demands of tomorrow on lower emissions from small two-stroke engines, used e.g. in chain-saws, there is a need to enhance the control over the combustion. One interesting parameter is the air-to-fuel ratio (A/F). If A/F can be measured, then it is possible to intelligently control the fuel, and thus obtain a desired A/F. This is interesting in combustion engine control, b...

Prediction of Major Pollutants Emission in Direct-Injection Dual-Fuel Diesel And Natural-Gas Engines

The dual-fuel diesel engine (D.F.D.E) is a conventional diesel engine in which much of the energy released, hence power, comes from the combustion of gaseous fuel such as natural gas. The exhaust emission characteristics of the D.F.D.E needs further refinements, particularly in terms of reduction of Unburnt Hydrocarbons (U7HC) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) emission, because the concentration of thes...

Simulation of Dual Fuel Combustion of Direct Injection Engine with Variable Natural Gas Premixed Ratio

Nowadays, the major challenge of diesel engines development is simultaneous nitrogen oxides and soot emissions reduction without the thermal efficiency drop. Hence, different combustion concepts should be investigated to reach optimum emission and performance conditions in diesel engines without expensive aftertreatment systems. This paper presents the results of a study on a dual fuel (DF) eng...
